Sending Calendar Invites is 3X Cheaper than Sending Emails for Events
We review the costs and use case for sending 52 Million Calendar Invites
Why are calendar invites three times less expensive than Marketing and Transactional Emails?
Answer: It saves three more emails per customer dialog, thereby reducing costs and customer confusion.
If your customer has signed up for email notifications for events like Sports Events, Music Events, Quarterly reports, Coupon Offers, ETC.
Then send a calendar invite first.
Why would you send three more emails to ask your customer if they put the event on their calendar?
Include all of that in the Calendar Invite Message. Then track the RSVP response and use the Update and Cancel Commands for the Calendar Invite.

Build vs. Buy Debate
Building a calendar invite solution from scratch is an expensive endeavor.
We are the only software vendor to have built a native AWS solution for OEMs, supporting AI Agent, Web Embed, and direct calendar invite-sending use cases using the AWS SES stack.
Below, you will find the cost analysis for an OEM or large customer sending 52 million calendar invites per year.
AWS resources used for sending 52 million calendar invites?
TLDR - Sending Calendar Invites on an already developed AWS SES stack is approximately 10% more in infrastructure costs to your current AWS bill.
Example:
In this case, if you were sending 1 million emails a week or 52 million a Year and had about $ 160,000 allocated a year for the AWS SES stack, you would then add about $16,000 more a year for sending AWS calendar invites.
Or, in other words, no more than 10% more to send calendar invites on any AWS SES install. That is for additional Lambdas, Storage, Compute, and Messaging for sending calendar invites using the AWS Calendar Invite Server.
**Excludes the cost that the OEM would charge for the AWS Calendar Invite Server licenses.
What would it cost to build out a Calendar Invite Server on AWS today?
How many hours did we spend building out the AWS Calendar Invite Server product, creating content, and acquiring 3,000 test customers?
We spent approximately 12,000 Hours on how to put together the API Workflows, Front-End, Back-End, APIs, and Dev and Prod Pipelines.
It would not take you this much time using Chat GPT and coding tools.
Our novel discovery for data Ingestion is that any Organizer of a Google or Microsoft Calendar client can send event data to the AWS Calendar Invite Server using a copy command to an AWS SES email box. We disassemble and store the calendar invite data for that event and remap a UID in the database for retrieval.
The API is then used to send calendar invites by calling the UID within the website iframe, where the customer inserts the email address, or by using a direct email list loaded into a web interface specifically designed for visualizing and sending calendar invite events.
In either the web or direct list-sending method, the API reconstructs the data for calendar invites in a single workflow process and sends it.
